Let me tell you about when I started my first brand... It was 2014 - I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT E-COMMERCE

I owned a taco restaurant at the time and it was barely floating. I would see ads online talking about selling physical products and I REALLY WANTED TO LEARN.

But I had no clue what to sell (or even how to sell it haha)

I just happened to stumble on Shopify at the time (which was NOT the obvious choice at the time)

Now for the product...

Hoverboards looked cool! haha - so I decided that's what I was going to sell!

I watched some YouTube videos on how to source products for drop shipping which were not that readily available (WE ARE ALL SO SPOILED WITH THE AMOUNT OF AMAZING CONTENT OUT THERE NOW!)

I decided to go onto Alibaba.com and just start messaging suppliers of hoverboards asking if they would drop ship into north america for me

And I found one!

And so started my first (of 8) e-commerce brands!

It was called Hoverboard Authority hahah (I think some guru out there had named their brand something authority and I thought it wounded awesome)

My set-up was so simple

Google ads to product page to sale

That simple.

Order would come in and I'd forward the email to my supplier.

I did around 50K of sales in my first year.

But I hated selling someone elses product.

Also... I had zero clue what I was doing.

I always wished I had a community - but at the time there wasn't a lot of help.

THis is why I built TikTok Shop OS

Becasue a lot of brands out there NEED direction and guidence and help.

This is what it's for.

My goal is to help 1000 brands go from first sale to scale on TikTok shop this year! (so far we're at 84)
