Hey all - TikTok Shop just dropped A HUGE mandate
Here’s what they said (and what it means below) - ps… before you start if you want THE EXACT operating system that we install for brands at the agency (without a retainer) - chat with my team here.
Starting February 25, 2026 (PST) through March 31, 2026 (PST), TikTok Shop will begin phasing in a requirement that U.S. local sellers must fulfill orders through TikTok Shop Logistics Services, meaning:
Orders must be fulfilled via Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT)
Includes Upgraded TikTok Shipping and Collections by TikTok (CBT)
Seller Shipping will be discontinued
This policy has already been implemented for cross-border sellers.
So here’s my take in video form (and here’s a quick take below) …
There has been a lot of NOISE around this TikTok Shop update so I wanted to let everyone know what is actually happening! 👇
Ok - here we go!
TikTok Shop Logistics Update what brands actually need to know Jan 22nd version
First... This is not nearly as big of a deal as what it sounds like... though I was freaking out at first as well!!
→ Ok... here's what’s changing
TikTok Shop is removing “Seller Shipping”
That means...
Sellers must use TikTok Shop Logistics Services
Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT)
TikTok Shipping / Upgraded TikTok Shipping
Collections by TikTok (CBT)
A small list of ERPs/WMS (ShipHero, AfterShip, etc.) are already approved (and more will be approved ASAP)
New sellers (Feb 9, 2026+) must comply from day one
→ What this does NOT mean
You are NOT being forced to use TikTok’s warehouses
You are NOT losing your 3PL
You are NOT rebuilding your entire ops stack
TikTok is NOT killing Shopify-first brands
→ What this ACTUALLY means
TikTok wants control over labels, tracking, and delivery SLAs
Your warehouse can still pick + pack
TikTok just wants to be the source of truth for shipping
This is TikTok moving toward an Amazon style logistics standard
→ Why this isn’t a big deal for real brands
If you’re already:
Using a real 3PL
Shipping on time
Hitting scan + delivery SLAs
→ you’ll be fine!!
Most $50M to $500M brands already operate this way on Amazon + Walmart
This hurts dropshippers, not operators (so you can breathe out)
→ The simple paths forward
Option 1: Keep your 3PL → switch labels to TikTok Shipping
Option 2: Use ShipHero / AfterShip direct integrations (and those that will be approved - we like Shoppedance)
Option 3: Run FBT for select SKUs (speed + scale play)
→ Ok... Who should actually be worried??
Brands with:
No real warehouse
No scan discipline
Long ship times
“We’ll fix ops later” mentality
TikTok is cleaning house. Period! (this is GREAT NEWS for real brands)
→ K here's the bottom line
This is TikTok saying “If you want scale, act like a real brand.”
For serious operators, this is noise not a threat
(And yes this is bullish for brands who take ops seriously and real brands you just got a gift from the TikTok shop gods!)
Btw… if this all sounds like a pain - chat with my team about installing the exact same operating system we use for brands at SCC here.
